Local Initiative had the privilege of serving alongside a great team of people to meet the needs of a widow by doing a service project this month. We partnered with the McWilliams family through Both Hands Foundation. The family is raising support to bring home a child. They raised funds by getting sponsors for their day of service to a widow.

What an opportunity!

We were so honored to bring a team a servants to help with this day. Miss Marianne, who is living in the country on her own after her husband passed away, was in desperate need of repairing and restoring her house and property. The team was able to thoroughly clean the inside of her house, organize her thousands of books (she taught history and loves to read), clear out dead trees and bushes, power wash her deck, replace gutters, replace a broken front door, mow her grass, fix light fixtures, install a ceiling fan, even rid her property of a few gnarly snakes!

We want to honor the McWilliams family and their heart to take care of widows and orphans. We hope that their journey to bring home a child in need of a family concludes soon. You can follow their journey here

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the McWilliams family and Miss Marianne. And thank you for your support to Local Initiative so that together we can make a difference in our communities!
